Renewal forms, fees and CEU documentation are due July 31, 2021.

Please note there are changes to the renewal process this year. Due to these changes, we encourage you to renew early, not wait until the expiration date of 7/31/2021. This year and subsequent years, if your renewal packet is not received by July 31st of that year, your license will be expired, and you will be unable to identify as a Licensed Rehabilitation Counselor (LRC). There is no grace period. If you do not send in your documents and fees by September 30th of that year your license will be lapsed, and you will have to reapply for licensure. There will be no exceptions. If you have questions about renewal, please email, call, or write the Board office before July 31, 2021.
Starting this year, you can submit your application packet by mail or online. Click here for the instructions to submit your renewal online. Your renewal application and CEU information can be completed and uploaded for your convenience. You also have the option of paying online with a small convenience fee of $5.00 for processing. If you would prefer to print the documents and mail in the traditional way with a cashier’s check or money order, you can still do this. Please remember that it must be a money order or cashier’s check for processing. However, the money and application must be in by the due date. We are not responsible for mail mishaps. You will be responsible for assuring that your packet was received by the due date. Updated electronic license cards will be sent via email once your application is processed and approved. If you use traditional mail, we highly recommend that you send it with tracking for your convenience and peace of mind.
You will need 30 hours by 7/31/2022. Your actual CEU’s can be scanned and attached to the CEU document. Please note if your CEU’s do not contain a preapproval number from CRC, CCM, CLCP, CDMS, CDWAVES, NCC, CHCC, NBCC, LRS, ACA/LCA they must be sent in 3 months before renewal date to give time for board approval. If not, they may not be approved in time for license renewal. This means that you have until April 30th of the 2-year period to have this turned in. For this renewal it would be April 30, 2022. You can find the CEU approval packet on the website under Continuing Education tab http://www.lrcboard.org/continuing_ed.htm . You can scan and email to email@example.com . This will need to be completed if the above noted designation is not on your CEU document. Thirty continuing education hours are required by the end of the two-year period. These periods are, 7/31/2022, 7/31/2024, 7/31/2026, 7/31/2028, 7/21/2030, 7/31/2032, 7/31/2034, 7/31/2036.
The Board continues to work diligently to keep current the information we have on our website. If you are not aware, we have a Licensee section on our website, www.lrcboard.org. This section lists all our current LRC’s and Provisional members. The directory includes your name, and the address and contact information you indicated preference on your last renewal. It is important for you to review this information and insure it is correct on the website. There is a section on the renewal form to indicate changes if necessary.
Note: According to LRS 37:2951, the Board must verify with the Office of Student Financial Assistance whether a renewal applicant has a defaulted student loan. If the applicant has defaulted on a student loan, we will reject the renewal application and revoke the applicant’s license. If the renewal applicant has made acceptable payment arrangements with the Office of Student Financial Assistance, we will approve the renewal, but we will grant the applicant a conditional license.
*If you prefer to mail in your renewal fee, enclose a money order or cashier’s check for the $100.00 amount. Nothing is processed or renewed until funds are received.
